It can be your friend
I was in Bulgaria about six weeks ago, I was chatting with an Architect that was telling me about a YouTube channel he really liked, so I watched one episode, one week later I must have watched at least fifty.
The channel was Casey Neistat, a YouTube star. Casey is a film maker that has had over one billion views on YouTube, typical content creators earn roughly $2-$3 per 1,000 views.
This translates that Caseys channel has returned 2-3 million so far. Even better, he made a daily VLOG (video log), uploaded them with the same upload button everyone else has, after editing them for 4-7 hours. Sounds simple enough, right?
Caseys VLOG
The last episode of Breaking bad apparently had seven million views in the USA, apparently that is impressive?
Can you cut it?
So by creating good 10 minute content, with a hand-held camera, he has been able to cut out all the middle men in movie making, between making the content and releasing it and get on to the next one, tomorrow.
Woody Allen likes to make a movie every year, and he has done a movie every year on average, Woodie has done 47 movies, impressive?
I was asked my nephew about six months ago what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said…
I want to be a YouTube game video blogger
I thought that was interesting, especially now that I know teenagers prefer YouTube over TV, especially since the visions for youtube was watch anything, anytime, anywhere. Now whats impressive is that some people are making some serious money from their channels.
It seems if you do good work, people will find you, they come to you, the tools to edit video are free and anyone can do it.
To give you an idea of what is going on…
You just need to start and what I particularly like is, you dont need to be very good. You just need to have a style, if people like your style, they like your style and sometimes click “Subscribe”, you get enough of those, you can stop flipping hamburgers for a living and hangout at the swimming pool to start your days.
So, just start!
